Handmade in Japan

Each Edo Bitsu is made from natural Sawara cypress wood. Variations in wood grain, color, texture, and appearance are natural characteristics of the material and make every piece one of a kind. Your item may differ slightly from the photos shown.

Natural Sawara Resin

Sawara cypress may naturally release small amounts of wood resin (tar) during storage or use. This is completely natural, harmless, and a sign of genuine Sawara wood. The same resin contributes to the wood‘s fresh cypress fragrance.

If the surface feels sticky, simply wipe the resin away with a cloth lightly dampened with rubbing alcohol.

Care Instructions
After use, fill the container with water briefly to loosen any remaining rice.
Use a soft brush (such as a tawashi brush) to remove residue.
Do not soak for extended periods.
Dry thoroughly with a soft tea towel after washing.
Store in a dry location away from direct sunlight.

With proper care, your handcrafted Edo Bitsu will provide years of beautiful use and authentic Japanese dining tradition.
